Storage 24 Music Video Shoot (part 2 of 2) (6.7.09)
picking up right where we left off with part one, the Storage 24 music video shoot for their single “No Surrender” continues!
we pick back up as the crew gets ready to film Courtney’s scene.
i just had to leave this one in color. i love all the contrast of Clay’s brown shirt, Sam’s orange shirt, Daniel’s black shirt, and Courtney’s pink dress against the back drop of that blue building.
yep. we still have Talon running.
remember, it’s still 90+ degrees out there!
getting set up for take two.
and take two goes off without a hitch.
oh, and the “storyline” of this scene is, Talon is running down the street, bumps into Courtney who asks if he’s ok, he starts freaking out and takes off running again.
and that was that.
me and Clay weren’t the only ones doing some behind the scenes shooting.
Tom Wright from StateStreetPosts.com was also there filming scenes for his website and for his wife’s “Bunny’s Fashion Report” (in which i was interviewed showing off my “hip” street fashion. and by hip i mean my blue jeans and t-shirt) 😉
if you wanna check out the video of his shoot, just click here 🙂
while Tom was filming, the rest of us were pretty much just waiting around, trying to beat the heat, while the next scene was being set-up.
Courtney had to leave shortly after i got this shot, so i’m glad i got it.
the next set-up we’re waiting on is the second part of the car scene. (yeah, the one that was giving us so much trouble before)
Tom filming Daniel G. while we’re getting the car scene ready.
heh, i think he got me too
just chillin’
ok, back to work!
LoL, Baby Phred and that umbrella that he pretty much adopted.
i assure you, we’re working hard now! 😉
Laine + scary eye make-up = ready to shoot this scene!
the crew grows!
Jenifer and Ash roll in about this time.
this is Jenifer.
and here’s Ash with Tom and Bunny!
(don’t forget to check out StateStreetPosts.com now!) 😉
and we pick up with the filming of part two to the car scene, already in progress.
me shooting Jen while she, also, takes photos of the car scene.
in fact, this will about wrap it up with this scene.
i always like shooting other photographers, while they’re shooting. always like seeing how they approach stuff.
and this was the point that we all started heading for the building to get ready for the last scene of the day on Farish St.
the big band scene!
Amile is ready, yo! 😉
and now, a quick layout of how everything is laid out for the final Farish St. scene
here’s the layout from the front…
and here it is from the back.
time to get this show on the road!
Storage 24 makes their entrance.
Amile and Ash (who was also running one of the three cameras now) were filming as i shot this.
i can’t wait to see how it looks on video!
Kamikaze is ready to kick it!
it’s time…
…and Baby Phred is really to go.
everybody starts getting into their places
(and Baby Phred does a quick wardrobe change)
last minute equipment and lighting checks…
the crew assembles…
Clay mans camera 3 from up in the balcony…
show time.
ok, this is the part of the scene were Talon hears the music from the band playing and is drawn to it…
…and as if in a dream, like a moth to the flame, he has to discover the source.
so through the door he walks.
the band doesn’t see him…
he walks through, like a ghost, finding peace in the music…
before walking into the light…
here’s a different angle.
what Clay on camera 3 saw of the entrance scene.
and what camera 3 saw of the exit.
that pretty much wrapped up Farish St.
after that it was break time in front of the only fan on the set and and killing time, making sure we had all the shots we needed before we started breaking everything down.
Jenifer looking for some water in her bag.
success!
i’ll tell you a secret about Jen.
she loves having her picture taken.
(Jen with Deuce and FW3 of The Envelope Pushers who, along with AJC, were having a photoshoot a block or two away)
now i’ll tell you a secret about me.
(oh, we did need to grab one or two more pick up shots…!)
oh, my secret?
i love taking pictures.
(here’s that pick-up shot they were setting up for…)
see why we’re friends? LoL
and this was the last shot at the Farish St. location.
Farish Street is a wrap!
next up, filming the last scene of the video at One to One Studios!
inside Josh Hailey‘s photo studio inside One to One around 9pm.
(figured now was as good a time as any for a quick self-portrait)
April and Baby Phred joking around.
April was our angel (who would later transform into a demon) for this part of the shoot.
(trust me, it’ll all make sense when you see the video) 🙂
getting everything ready…
Clay making sure the lighting looks good from on high
Ash making sure the lighting looks good in camera
i promise, Clay is no where near as creepy as this photo makes him look LoL
Daniel G. giving some directions…
check what we have so far
scary eye make-up time and Shondra is ready!
time to turn our angel into a demon.
Baby Phred looks on
(i really like this shot)
Jenifer and Brenda (to the right) were our other, true, angels
Amile giving Brenda some last mintue directions
Jen giving Brenda a quick touch up
by this point, we were having to kinda speed up because we kept blowing fuses and losing power.
so we jury rigged and managed to keep power flowing by running extension cords to other parts of One to One and kept it going. LoL
NO SURRENDER! 😉
another shot i really like
Talon, as he finally sees what’s on the other side of the light.
and the loving embrace.
this is pretty much how the video ends.
but before we get to that point!
one more scene of us abusing Talon!
April, as a demon, attacking the hell out of Talon!
now, here is what everyone (Amile, Daniel, Baby Phred) were yelling in the background:
YEAH!! GET ‘EM!!! GET ‘EM!!
GO AFTER HIM!! YEAH!! REALLY GET AFTER HIM!!!
YEAH!!! YEAH!!!
PUSH HIM TO THE GROUND!!! DON’T LET UP!!!
April: but what if i tear his shirt…?
TEAR HIS SHIRT!!! YEAH!!! GO FOR IT!!!
YEAH!!! TEAR HIS SHIRT!!! THAT’S IT!!!
PUSH HIM TO THE GROUND!!! THROW HIM TO THE GROUND!!! HE LIKES IT!!!
YEAH!! THAT’S IT!! GOT IT!
LoL!
heh, and so ends the Talon abuse!
but really, Talon was a really good sport and i know every scene he’s in is gonna look great cause he always gave a 110%
and now, some last minute pick-up shots before we call it a night
(no, Talon didn’t get a new shirt, he just flipped his torn worn around LoL)
Amile films as Clay ponders…
and that’s that.
Initial filming of Storage 24’s “No Surrender” music video is done!
it was a long, hot, humid day and a blown fuse, jury rigged trying to keep the power on night, but we were all in it together and that made it great!
can’t wait to see the video guys!!
That’s a wrap folks!!
Storage 24 has left the building!
have a good one everyone!
next post: the Chick Jam!
starring Lizzie Wright, Anna Kline, and The Bachelorettes!
see ya then.
thanks for the cool pix pat!
no prob man
