[Model Shoot] Maggie @ The Commons (8.15.09)
and this post will wrap up the Model Shoot posts for a bit.
the whole idea behind doing all of these is, because, it occurred to me one day that i’d never had a proper photoshoot using my DSLR (a pentax K100D for those that care) so, i wanted to get a few under my belt.
many thanks to all my friends who put up with me sticking a camera in their faces while i had them stand in abandoned downtown buildings, under bridges, in corn fields full of bugs, putting up with me leaving spare memory cards at home, and looking spooky in graveyards. ya’ll rocked! 🙂
so, to wrap things up, we have my good friend Maggie letting me photograph her at The Commons at Eudora Welty’s Birthplace
(oh! and hey Maggie’s Mom! Maggs told me you check out my blog so *waves!*) 🙂
[interlude 02]
yep, it’s an interlude week
sorry for no new post but i’ve been swamped with getting ready for an art show that i’m in on the 26th at One to One Studios called “Mobiles”
so, here’s a preview image of the next post. the last of the Model Series i’ve been doing. this time starring my friend Maggie.
[Model Shoot] Cory – The Graveyard Series (8.14.09)
this photoshoot was 12 years in the making.
Cory is one of my closest friends and in the 12 years of our friendship she’s never let me really photograph her before (something about how she wouldn’t look good modeling or something. i’m not sure. whatever it was, it wasn’t true)
well, it seems like, if you keep asking someone to do a photoshoot every other month for 12 years they’ll actually give in, sooner or later 😉
so, i knew that i wanted to do something different with Cory than what i’ve been doing with my other friends.
and knowing Cory for all these years i know what she likes and doesn’t like.
doesn’t like: cute “girly” photos
does like: spooky, gothic photos
so, knowing that, i knew where we had to go and when we had to do it.
the where?: Dean’s Stand, an historical site located on the Natchez Trace
the when?: the onset of twilight on a slighty overcast day
let’s do this.
