[Jubilee!Jam] Quills (6.19.09)

Posted in 2009, Color, Digital, Jubilee!Jam 2009, Photo Post, rock and roll by William Patrick Butler on July 8, 2009

wow.

laid down for a quick nap and woke up at 11:00 pm!

i almost missed wednesday’s post!

well, let’s get it started!

monday it was The Bailey Bros.

yesterday, Obeyjah & The Pearls.

today, it’s time for the Quills to rock us!

Quills (8 of 26)

since i’m still trying to wake up as i post this, expect a pretty text lite post LoL

Quills (2 of 26)

but even in a text lite post i can tell you something very true about the Quills

Quills (5 of 26)

they brought the rock and they brought the roll

Quills (7 of 26)

(and let’s take another moment to give major props to Stephen Barnett for the lighting.)

Quills (9 of 26)

(now that the sun’s gone done, you can really see how bad-ass it was)

((wish my pentax k100d had a better sensor. wouldn’t have gotten image artifacts like that if it did))

Quills (10 of 26)

i still love my pentax though 🙂

Quills (11 of 26)

there are times you hate seeing red lights at concerts.  and then there are times like this when they rock LoL

Quills (12 of 26)

and times like this 😉

Quills (14 of 26)

and as the lights shift to yellow, it’s time to make sure i get the drummer

Quills (15 of 26)

it’s always a good feeling when you get a good drummer shot (IMO at least)

Quills (16 of 26)

the rock continues

Quills (17 of 26)

i have to admit though.  i really loved that blue lighting

Quills (18 of 26)

just great

Quills (19 of 26)

as i mentioned on Todd Owyoung‘s page (he’s a GREAT concert photographer, so make sure you click that link) whenever you’re shooting a show with great lighting it just makes you wanna high five the lighting crew LoL

Quills (vertical) (2 of 2)

the only vertical shot from this series.

Quills (20 of 26)

now, don’t be fooled.  just because the sun has gone down doesn’t mean it wasn’t still hot as hell LoL

Quills (21 of 26)

but the late night heat didn’t bother them at all

Quills (22 of 26)

the Quills kept it rocking and rolling.

Quills (23 of 26)

know what?  time for a little shooting info i think

Quills (24 of 26)

shooting with a pentax k100d

ISO at 1600, with an apeture of f/4.5 and shutter speed that went between 1/125 and 1/60

Quills (25 of 26)

most folks reading this really won’t care about all that camera tech stuff.

but some folks will 🙂

Quills (26 of 26)

and this will about wrap it up…

Quills (13 of 26)

the Quills ladies and gentlemen!

and now, a random crowd shot

Rachel “charmin” Jarman being Rachel!

People and Stuff (11 of 12)

she’s one of the Girls in The Band!  😉

speaking of the ladies, they left on their first official summer tour this morning!  (rachel wasn’t with them due to having moved to texas. but Delia the Diva (the Dubb of Dubb Nubb!) is filling in as lead singer until they get to texas).  make sure to keep up with their misadventures on their blog (you did click the above link didn’t you?) 😉

(i’ll post photos from their Summer Tour Kick-Off Show @ The Gloveshack after i finish Jubilee!Jam Week) 🙂

*checks time…*

whew! finished before midnight.

victory!!

have a good one everybody!
